Our first Guests will be:
Rsch Assoc Sally Grainger (Reading University) – food historian, chef and experimental archaeologist. She has worked with many university institutions and museums helping to interpret the foodways of ancient societies. Together with Dr Christopher Grocock she edited and translated the recipe text known as Apicius.
Dr Maciej Helbig (independent researcher) – classicist, graduated from the University of Silesia.
He successfully reconstructs ancient culinary recipes. He is also interested in Ancient Greek and Roman and Byzantine pastoral poetry and how plants help to define the inner world of bucolics.
