According to the already available annual report of the Institute of Media Monitoring (IMM), 68.09 thousand publications about the University of Lodz reached over 2 billion 56 million readers, viewers, listeners and Internet users in Poland and around the world. The so-called advertising equivalent of the publications amounted to a total of PLN 393.96 million! It should be underlined that all the above-mentioned parameters were increased by several dozen to almost one hundred percent compared to 2023!
University of Lodz takes fourth place in the prestigious ranking
Our university was ranked high, fourth among Polish universities in the Top Marka 2024 ranking published by the industry magazine "Press". This year's ranking included a total of 10 universities, including 7 universities. The University of Lodz was ranked 4th among them, behind the University of Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
The so-called impact, or the estimated reach of information about a given brand constituted an important factor taken into account when creating the list. It is calculated based on data on the reach of mentions of the university that appeared in the media. As part of the ranking, over 1.4 million press materials, 11.9 million online publications and 18.2 million social media entries were analysed.

These impressive results would not have been possible without the activity of scientists from the University of Lodz who are involved in the university-wide projects of the University of Lodz Press Office (including the Press Breakfasts), promotional initiatives of faculty representatives and those who are eager to cooperate with editorial offices and journalists.The group of very active University of Lodz researchers in the media, such as dr hab. Talking about science and university over coffee
Press Breakfasts of the University of Lodz is a project aiming at establishing and maintaining relations between the media and the university, which was initiated in December 2022. During regular meetings of scientists, doctoral students and students with journalists, the expert knowledge of researchers from the University of Lodz is presented and topics from the life of the university are discussed. it is primarily a time for conversation, spontaneous exchange of opinions and sharing ideas, as well as networking.
During Press Breakfasts, scientists get to know journalists personally, which makes them more willing to cooperate with them in the future and the group of the University of Lodz researchers open to the media is constantly growing. In turn, journalists interested in the expert knowledge of scientists use the contacts they have established with them for subsequent publications.

The year 2024 was full of important events at the University of Lodz. The greatest interest of journalists and individual editorial offices, which was reflected in numerous publications, was enjoyed by:

The jubilee 10th edition of the University of Lodz competition for the Award of the First Rector of the University of Lodz, Professor Tadeusz Kotarbiński for an outstanding piece of work in the field of humanities was the university's most media-friendly event in 2024.
It was a good year for the University of Lodz. May 2025 be at least an equally successful year to all scientists involved in the media form of promoting research, scientific and didactic successes of their own and the university.
