Dr. Mateusz Chatys undertook a research trip to the Philippines, during which he represented the Center for Asian Affairs at two prestigious conferences focused on the issues of Philippine security and the South China Sea disputes.
During his stay, Dr. Chatys participated in the “Pilipinas Conference 2024”, organized by the Philippine think tank Stratbase ADR Institute. Additionally, he took part in the inaugural “The Manila Dialogue on the South China Sea”, hosted by the American research institute Pacific Forum. This event gathered experts from around the world specializing in maritime and territorial disputes in the South China Sea, as well as representatives of coast guards, naval forces from the Indo-Pacific region, and ambassadors of allied nations accredited in the Philippines.
Dr. Chatys's trip significantly contributed to the international exchange of knowledge on regional security and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific area.
