PTSM conference in Lublin

On November 4-5, prof. Dominik Mierzejewski, Dr. Bartosz Kowalski and Dr. Jarosław Jura presented preliminary results in the NCN OPUS17 grant "The Belt and Road Initiative" in developing countries: the People's Republic of China as a multilateral and normative entity" financed under the UMO 2019/33/B/HS5/01667 agreement.

In the discussion of the policy towards the countries of the Global South, three basic mechanisms were distinguished: creating a rhetorical framework for cooperation, creating multilateral platforms for horizontal competition and a policy aimed at winning elites. In the second paper, prof. Mierzejewski and prof. Paulina Matera (WSMiP UŁ) discussed the differences in discursive strategies between the United States and the People's Republic of China during the pandemic crisis.
