On January 8-10, Professor Mierzejewski took part in the Hawai’i International Conference on Chinese Studies. During the organized panel devoted to the dynamics of local China, he presented the paper "Quasi-Centralization of Local Interests and Centre-Province Relations under the Belt and Road Initiative “Umbrella”. The panel was organized together with Dr. Adrian Brona (UJ), who presented research conducted as part of the NCN Preludium grant "The Prevalence of Tuanpai within Subnational Party Committees in China" and MA Joanna Nawrotkiewicz (UŁ), who is implementing the Diamond Grant at the University of Warsaw, with the paper "Patriotic Education Across China: Comparing Local Implementation Strategies".
