O przyszłości nauki z ministrem Dariuszem Wieczorkiem

Presidents of the conferences of rectors of individual types of universities and members of other representative institutions met with Dariusz Wieczorek, Minister of Science and Higher Education.

The promotion of science, legislative policy (proposed changes to the Law on Higher Education and Science) and cooperation between science and business constituted the main topics of the meeting at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Minister Dariusz Wieczorek emphasized that it was important to prepare specific legislative solutions in order to present proposals for changes to the Act that will respond to the voices of the community in the first half of the year. The head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education also announced changes to the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences. Proposals for new solutions will be presented in the first half of 2024 and submitted for further consultations.

Then, representatives of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP), together with representatives of the scientific community (Science Evaluation Committee, General Council of Science and Higher Education, Polish Academy of Sciences), discussed the modification of the method of evaluating the quality of scientific activities, including the new list of journals, at the CRASP office in Warsaw. The meeting was attended by the Rector of the University of Lodz, Prof. Dr hab. Elżbieta Żądzińska as the President of the CRASP Science Committee.
