Contemporary Challenges of Tax Law - międzynarodowa konferencja naukowa / international scientific conference

Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies and Tax Law Department of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz cordially invite to an international scientific conference Contemporary Challenges of Tax Law, dedicated to Professor Włodzimierz Nykiel on the occasion of the jubilee of his academic work.

Logo of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz and Centre of Tax Documentation and StudiesThe conference will take place on 16 - 17 December 2024 onsite in Lodz (Poland) at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Univeristy of Lodz (Kopcińskiego 8/12), with the possibilty of online participation (Microsoft Teams). The Jubilee Ceremony will take place on 16 December at Biedermann Palace in Lodz (Franciszkańska 1/5). 

On Monday, 16 December 2024, 3 sessions will take place, entirely in English, with the participation of foreign and Polish speakers, devoted to the issues of:

  • fundamental and ethical values in tax law, taking into account digitalization;
  • protection of the tax base and its fair distribution, taking into account digitalization;
  • tax law in the service of an innovative and green economy and a fair and inclusive society.

On Tuesday, 17 December 2024, 3 sessions will take place, mostly in Polish (with simultanous translation into English) and partly in English (without translation into Polish), with the participation of Polish and foreign speakers. The sessions will concern:

  • constitutional and systemic issues in tax law;
  • substantive issues in tax law;
  • procedural issues in tax law.

On the second day (17 December) a practitioners' panel discussion will also take place, with the participation of Polish tax pratitioners (tax adminitration, tax judiciary, tax and legal advisory).

Registration for participation

Onsite participation requires payment of a fee in the amount of PLN 320. The fee includes participation, and coffee breaks, lunches and a dinner - in accordance with the agenda. The fee does not include hotel accommodation. Bank account number will be provided in an email confiriming registration for the conference. Bank fees should be covered by the person ordering the transfer.

Active participants (speakers, discussants, chairs) and individually invited guests are exempt from the conference fee.

Online participation is free of charge.

The number of places for onsite and online participants is limited. The order of applications is decisive.

Applications for participation should be submitted via the FORM, which will be active until 12 December 2024.
