Konkurs Prezesa UOKiK na najlepszą pracę magisterską i rozprawę doktorską

The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection is organising a competition for the best MA and doctoral theses on competition and consumer protection. Applications should be sent by 29 November 2024.

The competition is addressed to graduates of Law and other study programmes, such as Economics, Administration and Management. People who defended their theses in the time specified below can apply:

  • from 15 October 2023 to 15 October 2024, with a grade of at least very good – MA theses,
  • from 15 October 2023 to 15 October 2024 – doctoral dissertations.

Papers written in Polish or English are accepted.

Theses on competition protection should cover the area of anti-competitive practices, concentration control, state aid and counteracting unfair use of contractual advantage in trade in food and agricultural products. 

Theses on consumer protection, on the other hand, should cover the thematic scope of practices violating the collective interests of consumers, unfair market practices and prohibited contractual provisions. 

The competition offers prizes. The authors of the three best master's theses in each thematic area will receive, respectively: PLN 7,000, PLN 5,000, PLN 3,000. Additionally, the winners are invited to take part in paid internships at the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. In addition, you can receive a distinction from the Competition Law Association – PLN 5,000 in each thematic area. The authors of the three best doctoral dissertations in both thematic areas will receive, respectively: PLN 10,000, PLN 7,000, and PLN 5,000.

The best MA and doctoral theses will be published as part of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection Library both in printed and electronic form.
