University of Lodz Library has had its own apiary since spring 2021. It is looked after by the beekeepers from the Lodz Apiarist Association. Hives on the building roof top contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about bees and beekeeping among the academic community and inhabitants of Lodz. Thanks to the Beebiloteka [Bee-library], it is also possible to raise awareness of the great importance of these insects for humans. More about the Beeblioteka UniLodz project.
