Nagroda w konkursie GPW dla absolwenta EkSoc UŁ

On 23 January 2025 a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz, Ludwik Bogucki, won the second prize in the MA theses category in the 11th edition of the national Competition for the Award of the President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange for his master's thesis entitled "Inwestowanie zrównoważone na przykładzie akcyjnych funduszy ETF z ekspozycją na rynki wschodzące" [Sustainable investing on the example of equity ETF funds with exposure to emerging markets].

Prof. Tomasz Miziołek from the Department of International Finance and Investments at the faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Lodz is the thesis supervisor.

About the MA thesis entitled "Inwestowanie zrównoważone na przykładzie akcyjnych funduszy ETF z ekspozycją na rynki wschodzące".

The thesis addresses two aspects of financial markets that have seen a dynamic increase in popularity in recent years – sustainable investing and ETFs. It presents the definition of ESG, a historical outline of the sustainable investment concept, ESG scoring, and reviews the most important legal acts and legislative initiatives regulating the subject of sustainable development. The research part of the paper is devoted to a comparative analysis of the mapping difference and mapping error of eight ESG ETFs and their conventional counterparts (the research sample included a total of 14 ETFs) with exposure to emerging markets, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
