On 17 September 2021, the University of Coimbra's Faculty of Law hosted the first meeting of the Global Digital Human Rights Network, a project funded by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology). This project, launched in 2020, connects researchers from 33 countries to explore the challenges surrounding human rights in the context of digital globalization. The meeting was held in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation via Zoom, bringing together over 30 participants from across Europe.
The first meeting took place at the Colégio da Trindade and focused on discussing key theoretical and practical issues related to digital human rights. In conjunction with the meeting, the Coimbra Training School on Current Issues and Awareness of Digital Human Rights was also held, aiming to enhance participants' understanding of cutting-edge research and innovations in human rights related to the Internet.
The Lodz Cyber Hub proudly supported the event as part of the network, further contributing to advancing awareness and collaboration on digital human rights.
